When you think about canned fish what does it spring to mind? You most probably remember when you went running to the supermarket in search for some snack to stave off your hunger…so you’d buy canned fish. Nothing extraordinary about it!
Yet in Portugal – the land of fish, buying a canned fish from stores only dedicated to this specialty, like Loja das Conservas or Conservaria de Lisboa, is an entirely different buyer (and foodie) experience. We sometimes just buy tins to offer as souvenirs to our friends. That’s how tasty and beautifully wrapped they are!

Now what if you could sit and enjoy them on a plate along with a fine wine, instead of taking them home?
At More than wine (in LX Factory), you can order a tin of sardines served along with a plate of nectarines, sprinkled with drops of honey and cinnamon (the house’ special treat). Such a savory dish!
Apart from the variety of wine that caught our attention inside the bar (& store), were also the carefully organised canned fish covering a broad range of sardines, mackerel, codfish, squid, anchovies, in olive oil, in tomato sauce, with beans, with basil, to mention but a few. The range of artisanal beer, olive oil and other gourmet products are mesmerising.
