Top 5 most-read blog posts of 2015 – Where Two Go To

We’re not going to keep you much, we know you’re busy now with the preparation for the New Year’s Eve and all the cin cin stuff, and we do feel you.

Dreaming of a white Christmas in Romania…

Dreaming of a white Christmas in Romania…

This is our second Noel in Portugal. Although warm weather is our favorite, we can’t deny the fact that we miss snow, snowmen, snowballs, in short, Romania’s white winterland especially during the festive season. Continue reading

Blue all over Ericeira, Portugal

Blue all over Ericeira, Portugal

Ericeira’s history goes way back in time, somewhere only our imagination can reach.

And when we’re lacking imagination we seek inspiration in loco. That is why we come back here over and over again. We can easily place Ericeira in the top of the list of Portuguese villages fronting the ocean, to check at least once in a lifetime. There is this santa before Santa Claus, who goes by the name of Santa Nicholas / Moș Nicolae in Romanian. We celebrate it in Romania on 6th of December.

I’ve grown up with two santas and with the tradition of preparing and waiting for their arrivals. But who is Santa Nicholas and how is he different from Santa Claus? Continue reading

You may know Portugal for its sardines, and especially the canned ones. Despite the common belief, this small country has a large diversity of canned fish, from sardines to horse mackerel, from tuna to anchovy, octopus to eel. Moreover, there’s also a variety of sauce it is preserved in, from plain olive oil to an explosion of unbelievable flavors. Continue reading

An Atlantic summer breeze got lost in November…

We are going to tell you a secret, but to enjoy this secret you must keep it for yourself 🙂.

Not far from Lisbon, where the Tagus river and the Atlantic Ocean meet, stays a magic place with an unspoiled beach. After we had discovered it two weeks ago, we came back again last Sunday. It became our special Sunday retreat. Continue reading

Coimbra in 2 days: a travel guide for history lovers

Coimbra in 2 days: a travel guide for history lovers

We arrived on a rainy day in Coimbra and left on a sunny one. You’re like in two different cities depending on the weather. We opted for an indoor itinerary in the first day, so that we could visit lovely gardens and stroll the streets at ease the next day.

Coimbra is a city to see if you’re planning a longer stay throughout Portugal. It speaks history at every step and that’s the reason number one why it is so enthralling. Continue reading
